Becoming a Love and Logic Parent® Myself!
When I remarried in my late 30s, I became an instant full-time parent...of a tween and a teen! During a conference with the middle school guidance counselor, I jokingly asked for a step-mother manual. She suggested the book "Parenting Teens with Love and Logic" by Dr. Foster Cline and Jim Fay. My husband listened to the audio CDs in the car on his way to and from work each day. I bought a hard copy to highlight, underline, and jot notes in the margins. And so began the gradual transformation of our newly formed family.
We have worked together to create a loving and supportive home where the kids are empowered and encouraged to make decisions, choices, and (yes!) mistakes. Do we always get it right? No! Are homework and chores always done? No! And that is okay because we are building a great foundation for our family and learning opportunities for our children to become happy and healthy adults.
